MIT World Peace University and Election Commission of India Unite for Voter Registration Drive

~ Campaign to kick start from 21st November ~ 

16 November 2023, India: MIT World Peace University is set to kick start a transformative Voter Registration Drive on its Kothrud campus, beginning on 21 November, in partnership with the Election Commission of India. This collaborative effort encourages both new and existing voters to actively participate in the democratic process by enrolling or updating their information.

This partnership highlights the university’s commitment to nurturing responsible and active citizens. The drive emphasizes the importance of civic responsibility and the role each individual plays in steering the course of democracy. As the world’s largest democracy is about to witness the general elections in 2024, this voter registration drive will encourage first-time voters to participate in the democratic process and perform their duty towards the nation.

While commenting on this drive, the registrar of MIT-WPU, Ganesh Pokale stated, “Championing democracy and the active participation of youngsters is a shared responsibility. Recognizing the essential role of voting ensures that the power of collective voices shapes the destiny of our shared future.”

Also, Minal Kalaskar, Dy. District Election Officer, Pune added “Feel proud to be a Voter. Be ready to Vote. Voter registration is a crucial step towards shaping the future of our democracy.” 

“Your voice matters, and being a registered voter empowers you to contribute to the democratic process. Let us unite in the spirit of democracy, be prepared, and exercise our right to vote when the time comes”, expressed Archana Tambe, Dy. Collector and Nodal Officer for SVEEP.

The event will be graced by the presence of Minal Kalaskar, Dy. District Election Officer, Pune, Archana Tambe, Dy. Collector and Nodal Officer for SVEEP, Shri Landge, Electoral Roll Officer, Pune, and Archana Kulkarni, Ass. Electoral Roll Officer.
