Move aimed at flying out people stranded at Manipur
India, 8th May, 2023: Air India rose to the occasion by operating special flights to and from Imphal on 6th and 7th May 2023, to facilitate stranded people during the prevailing situation in Manipur.
On 6th May, 2023, flight AI1889 operated on the Delhi-Imphal-Delhi sector, departed Delhi at 12.35 pm and returned to Delhi from Imphal with 159 guests and 10 infants.
Yesterday (7th May, 2023), Air India operated AI 1889, the second of the special flights from Delhi to Imphal at 9.30 am. It then flew from Imphal to Guwahati and back as another special flight before its scheduled return to Delhi from Imphal at 6.45 pm.
Air India has already offered a full fee waiver on rescheduling/cancellation for all Air India flights to/from Manipur from 4th May to 6th May 2023, fulfilling certain conditions.
