Gurugram, 1st March 2023: District Education Office, Gurugram & PNB Housing & Finance, supported by the Lotus Petal Foundation, inaugurated e-infrastructural installations or ‘Smart Classrooms’ at 44 government schools; 7 in Sohna & 37 in Gurugram, as part of its E-learning program “Vidya Sahyog”. The E-learning infrastructure will aid in bridging the learning gap of 1697 underprivileged children and boost foundational learning amongst students by providing quality education opportunities to the children from rural areas.
The smart classroom at Govt Primary school in Village Bajghera, Gurugram was inaugurated by Smt. Shashi Ahlawat, District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO), Gurugram, Mr. Manoj Kumar Lakra, District Education Coordinator along with Ms. Saloni Bhardwaj, Co-Founder & CTO, Lotus Petal Charitable Foundation. The event was attended by 43 govt schools of Gurugram virtually.
Lotus Petal Charitable Foundation is the implementation partner of PNB Housing & Finance for E-infrastructural support in Govt Schools of Gurgaon. The Vidya Sahyog program provides support to remote learning centres, government schools, NGO schools and feeder schools in multiple areas like e-learning, physical classes and infrastructural support.
While interacting with the 44 govt. schools Smt. Shashi Ahlawat, District Elementary Education Officer, Gurugram, Haryana shared, “It has become the need of the hour to resort to modern means of learning. We are happy to collaborate with Lotus Petal Foundation for providing limitless opportunities to our students from government schools and giving them better quality of education. With the synergy of the public and private sector in education, I am sure together we can address the gaps in the education sector in rural areas effectively”.
Under the Vidya Sahyog Program of Lotus Petal Charitable Foundation, PNB has contributed towards digital learning in the government schools of Gurugram.
With the launch of smart classrooms in 44 govt. schools, Lotus Petal Charitable Foundation & PNB’s joint collaboration with the Department of School Education under the Haryana government, has reduced the learning gap of about 3000+ students and improved their focus on qualitative education & holistic development.
Speaking at the occasion, Ms. Saloni Bhardwaj, Co-Founder & CTO, Lotus Petal Foundation shared, “The pandemic, especially, brought to light logistical challenges for a multitude of people in the country. This is where the Vidya Sahyog Program proved to be an efficient & effective tool. This initiative covers a beneficiary base of 1697 students in 44 schools. We, at Lotus Petal Foundation (LPF) have also signed an MOU with the Gurugram Education Department for Vidya Sahyog Program; to provide interactive digital classes in Gurugram District additionally”.
The Vidya Sahyog project of Lotus Petal Charitable Foundation aims at improving the infrastructure and learning facilities of Government Schools of India.
