Pankaj Tripathi’s Tribute ‘Desh Phele’ on Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s 99th Birth Anniversary

On the auspicious occasion of the 99th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the makers of the film ‘Main Atal Hoon’ have released the first song titled ‘Desh Phele.’ 

Starring the talented actor Pankaj Tripathi in the role of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the film takes us through the extraordinary life of the renowned leader and poet.

‘Desh Phele’: A Heartfelt Tribute

To commemorate Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary, Pankaj Tripathi took to Instagram to share the first song from the film. 

Titled ‘Desh Phele,’ the song pays homage to the literary genius and visionary leader that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was.

‘Desh Phele,’ which means ‘Country First,’ beautifully captures the essence of Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s love for the nation and his unwavering commitment to its progress and prosperity. 

Sung by the soulful voice of Jubin Nautiyal, the lyrics penned by Manoj Muntashir stir the emotions and evoke a sense of patriotism.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was not only a revered politician but also a prolific poet. Through his poetry, he etched his name in the annals of history. 

‘Main Atal Hoon’ delves into his life, showcasing his incredible journey from a poet to one of India’s most beloved Prime Ministers.

Pankaj Tripathi’s Transformation into Atal Bihari Vajpayee

During the trailer launch of ‘Main Atal Hoon,’ Pankaj Tripathi shared his experiences portraying the iconic leader. He opened up about his interest in politics and how he prepared for the role of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. 

Pankaj also reminisced about his college days, where he joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a student organization affiliated with India’s ruling political party.

The Path to Acting

Pankaj Tripathi humorously mentioned that his foray into politics was short-lived. He shared that after realizing the challenges of a political career, he decided to switch gears and pursue his interest in street theater. 

Enrolling himself in Kaildas Rangalaya in Patna, Pankaj began his journey in acting, eventually leading him to become one of the most versatile actors of his generation.

Release Date and Tribute

Directed by Ravi Jadhav, ‘Main Atal Hoon’ is set to release on January 19th, 2024. Pankaj Tripathi expressed his gratitude for bringing Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s inspiring story to the silver screen.

 He emphasized the honor he felt in portraying the legendary leader’s journey and hoped that audiences would appreciate the efforts to immortalize Atal Ji’s legacy.
