Narendra Modi and Rishi Sunak Discuss West Asia, Terrorism, and Civilian Safety

In a recent telephonic conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his British counterpart Rishi Sunak, the leaders engaged in a discussion about several pressing issues in West Asia. 

They expressed deep concern over the escalating conflict between Israel and Hamas, terrorism, and the loss of civilian lives.

The Discussion on West Asia

During the conversation, both Narendra Modi and Rishi Sunak voiced their deep concern over the deteriorating security situation and the loss of innocent lives in West Asia. They agreed on the urgency of addressing terrorism and violence in the region.

Modi took to social media to share insights from their conversation. He emphasized that terror and violence have no place in society, vowing to work towards regional peace, security, stability, and continued humanitarian assistance.

The leaders underscored the need to find a sustainable solution to the ongoing conflict and stressed the importance of comprehensive peace in the region.

Bilateral Relations and Free Trade Agreement

Aside from the West Asia discussion, Prime Minister Modi congratulated Rishi Sunak on the successful completion of one year in office. 

The leaders acknowledged the progress being made towards an early conclusion of a mutually beneficial Free Trade Agreement between their countries.

Officials reported that both leaders expressed their commitment to strengthening the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership. 

The areas of focus included trade, investment, emerging technology, defence, security, and healthcare. 

The leaders recognized the importance of fostering collaboration in these sectors to enhance the overall relationship between India and the United Kingdom.

Commitment to Continued Engagement

Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Sunak expressed their dedication to maintaining regular communication and cooperation. 

They exchanged warm greetings on the occasion of Diwali, emphasizing the significance of cultural ties and shared celebrations.

Their commitment to ongoing engagement highlights the strong bond between India and the United Kingdom. 

It signifies their shared determination to address global challenges, promote peace, and seek mutual prosperity.
