In a recent poll rally at Jangaon, Union Home Minister Amit Shah made strong allegations against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) and his party, stating that they are involved in corrupt deals.
He vowed that if the BJP is voted to power in Telangana, they will conduct a probe into these alleged scams and ensure that those responsible for corruption are held accountable.
Alleged Scams Under KCR’s Regime
During the rally, Amit Shah highlighted several alleged scams that took place under the leadership of KCR.
These include the Kaleshwaram project, liquor scam, and land deals at Miyapur in Hyderabad. Shah asserted that KCR is “number one in corruption” in the country and that the BJP will conduct a thorough inquiry into all their corrupt deals, aiming to put those who indulged in corruption behind bars.
The BJP’s manifesto also reaffirmed their commitment to appointing a commission of enquiry to probe various projects commissioned in the name of development, including Kaleshwaram and Dharani, that have seen significant cost escalations and corruption.
Apart from promising a probe into corrupt deals, Amit Shah reiterated the BJP’s commitment to make a backward caste leader the chief minister of the state if they are voted to power in the upcoming elections.
Additionally, they pledged to arrange darshan free of cost at the Lord Ram temple at Ayodhya. Shah highlighted the fact that the Congress and KCR’s party had opposed the construction of the Ram temple for years, while PM Modi has taken significant steps towards its realization.
He announced that PM Modi would perform ‘pran pratishta’ at the temple on January 22, 2024, and encouraged the gathering to visit Ayodhya for darshan of ‘Ram Lalla’.
BJP’s Vision for Telangana
Amit Shah described the BRS, AIMIM, and Congress as ‘parivaarvadi’ parties, referring to them as ‘2G, 3G, and 4G’ parties respectively.
According to him, 2G represents two generations of KCR and his son K T Rama Rao, 3G symbolizes three generations of Asaduddin Owaisi, his father, and grandfather, and 4G represents four generations of Congress, including Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi.
He argued that the BJP is neither a 2G, 3G, nor a 4G party, but the party of Telangana people. He emphasized the leadership of PM Modi, who is not a dynast like the leaders of other parties, and emphasized the respect for India that his leadership has garnered worldwide.
Speaking about the BJP’s policies for Telangana, Amit Shah stated that the government would abolish the four percent reservation given to Muslims in the state.
Instead, they plan to increase the quota for BC (Backward Classes), SC (Scheduled Castes), and ST (Scheduled Tribes).
Specifically, the BJP aims to provide a “vertical quota” to the Madiga community of SCs in the state.
They have also promised four free LPG cylinders to each family if they come to power, along with procuring paddy from farmers at Rs 3,100 per quintal.
Commemorating the History of Hyderabad
Amit Shah emphasized the historical significance of Hyderabad’s accession to India after Independence.
He revealed plans to build a grand memorial at Bairanpally village near Jangaon to honor those who sacrificed their lives during the fight against ‘Razakars’ (armed supporters of Nizam rule).
He also criticized CM KCR for refusing to celebrate ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’ and stated that the BJP, if elected, would officially celebrate the day.
In addition, the BJP has plans to revive three sugar factories, fulfilling the request of Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri. They also intend to establish a 500-bed hospital in Nizamabad for the benefit of beedi workers.
Amit Shah’s bold statement at the poll rally in Jangaon showcases the BJP’s determination to unmask corrupt deals if they come to power in Telangana.
They have promised to conduct a probe into alleged scams and ensure that those responsible for corruption are held accountable.
Moreover, the BJP has outlined their vision and policies for the state, including a commitment to make a backward caste leader the chief minister, celebrating Hyderabad Liberation Day officially, and implementing various welfare measures.
It is now up to the people of Telangana to decide the future path of their state in the upcoming elections.
