The Battle Begins: Congress Unveils Initial Roster for Chhattisgarh Elections

The political landscape in Chhattisgarh is heating up as the Congress party unveils its initial roster of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections.

With Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo leading the charge, the Congress hopes to secure victory in this important state.

Congress Announces Candidates for Chhattisgarh Elections

The Congress today revealed its first list of 30 candidates for the Chhattisgarh assembly elections.

The first phase of polling will take place on November 7, covering 20 seats, while the remaining 70 seats will go to polls on November 17.

The ruling party has fielded Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel from Patan, demonstrating their confidence in his leadership. Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo will contest from Ambikapur, showcasing the party’s strategic moves to secure key positions.

Another notable candidate is Girish Devangan, who will go head-to-head with BJP leader and former state chief minister Raman Singh in Rajnandgaon. This promises to be an intense battle between the two parties.

Strong Contenders in Various Seats

Apart from the prominent candidates mentioned above, the Congress has put forth a strong lineup of contenders for the Chhattisgarh elections.

Taradhwaj Sahu will contest from Durg (Rural), Ravindra Choubey from Nawagarh, Yashoda Verma from Khairagarh, Vikram Mandavi from Bijapur, Lakheshwar Baghel from Bastar, Deepak Baij from Chitrakot, and K Chavindra Karma from Dantewada.

In Chhattisgarh, the assembly elections will be held in two phases. The first phase will cover 20 seats, while the second phase will see polling for the remaining 70 seats.

The Model Code of Conduct has come into force with the announcement of poll dates, ensuring a fair and transparent election process.

Congress and BJP: Key Players in Chhattisgarh

The Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are the main contenders in the Chhattisgarh elections.

The Congress aims to maintain its stronghold in the state after its landslide victory in the 2018 assembly polls, where it won 68 out of 90 seats. The BJP, on the other hand, is determined to reclaim power and set the stage for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

As the Congress unveils its initial roster for the Chhattisgarh elections, the battle for power in the state begins in earnest.

With prominent candidates like Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo leading the charge, the Congress is determined to maintain its dominance.

However, the BJP poses a formidable challenge and is eager to regain control of the state. The upcoming assembly elections in Chhattisgarh are sure to be closely watched by political pundits and voters alike.
