In a significant development for the opposition alliance INDIA, Sharad Pawar, the chief of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), recently met with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi.

The three prominent leaders held discussions to strategize the path ahead for the opposition bloc, which aims to challenge the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming assembly and general elections.

The plans to hold a joint public meeting of the INDIA alliance in Bhopal in October were foiled due to objections raised by Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath. 

Nath’s opposition was motivated by statements made by DMK leaders, including Udhayanidhi Stalin, that were perceived as derogatory towards ‘Sanatan Dharma.’ 

However, there are discussions among opposition leaders to hold the next meeting of the INDIA opposition leaders in West Bengal, indicating their commitment to restarting public engagements and reviving their collective political efforts.
