In a significant boost to the development of Rajasthan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched several developmental projects worth ₹5,000 crore in Jodhpur.
These projects encompass a wide range of sectors, including healthcare, transportation, education, and infrastructure.
PM Modi’s visit to Rajasthan not only emphasized the commitment towards progress but also witnessed some political remarks directed at Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and the Congress government.
Developmental Projects Unveiled
PM Modi kickstarted the slew of projects by laying the foundation stone for the state-of-the-art New Terminal Building at Jodhpur Airport, which will be built at a total cost of ₹480 crore.
This modern terminal aims to enhance air connectivity and bolster tourism in the region. Additionally, the Prime Minister dedicated the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur campus to the nation.
This state-of-the-art campus, built at a cost of over ₹1,135 crore, will contribute to the advancement of technology and education in Rajasthan.
Another significant addition to the state’s healthcare infrastructure was the inauguration of a 350-bedded ‘Trauma Centre and Critical Care Hospital Block’ at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Jodhpur.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for seven Critical Care Blocks under the Pradhan Mantri – Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM), which will be developed across the state.
The Prime Minister also dedicated various rail projects to the nation, including the doubling of the ‘Degana-Rai Ka Bagh’ rail line and the ‘Degana-Kuchaman City’ rail line.
These projects will enhance rail connectivity in Rajasthan, facilitating efficient transportation and boosting economic growth.
Political Remarks
While unveiling the developmental projects, PM Modi took a dig at Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s absence from the official event.
He remarked, “It was a government programme, but the Chief Minister was absent. Why was he not there? Because he has confidence that if Modi comes, everything will be fine.”
This statement highlights the political dynamics and the ongoing rivalry between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress in Rajasthan.
PM Modi further criticized the Congress government over the law and order situation in the state, pointing out instances of atrocities against Dalits and women.
He emphasized that the BJP aims to prioritize the welfare of the people and work towards their interests.
BJP’s Vision for Rajasthan
During his speech, PM Modi expressed the BJP’s resolution to make Rajasthan the number one state in tourism.
He asserted that the power of people’s votes can make this vision a reality. The BJP government aims to transform Rajasthan’s tourism sector, boosting economic growth and generating employment opportunities.
Additionally, PM Modi highlighted the BJP government’s commitment to the overall well-being of the citizens.
He mentioned the additional subsidy on LPG cylinders for Ujjwala beneficiaries, making cooking more affordable and promoting a pollution-free environment.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the government’s efforts in providing free treatment facilities to poor families under the Ayushman Bharat scheme and the construction of modern hospitals.
The BJP’s vision for Rajasthan focuses on transforming the state into a tourism hub and prioritizing the welfare of the people.
As the state gears up for the upcoming assembly polls, the developmental projects and political remarks set the stage for a competitive and dynamic political landscape in Rajasthan.
