In a scathing attack on Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has criticized the lack of development in the state over the past five years.
With the upcoming assembly election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a high-powered campaign to uproot the ruling Congress, with PM Modi spearheading the charge.
PM Modi’s speech at the ‘Parivartan Sankalp’ rally in Jaipur was powerful and addressed several key issues plaguing Rajasthan.
The Red Diary Controversy
PM Modi raised the issue of the “red diary” controversy, claiming that all the “black deeds” of corruption and cuts were hidden within its pages.
The red diary had caused a stir in the Rajasthan assembly when MLA Rajendra Singh Gudha alleged that it belonged to Dharmendra Rathore, a close aide of Chief Minister Gehlot.
Gudha claimed that the diary contained details of pay-offs made by the Gehlot camp to MLAs, independents, and others during the rebellion led by Sachin Pilot in 2020.
PM Modi highlighted the prevalence of corruption and questioned why anyone would invest in a state with such a grim atmosphere.
BJP’s Focus on Women Empowerment
The BJP has consistently focused on stopping crimes against women and empowering them, accusing the Congress of neglecting these issues.
PM Modi acknowledged the power of the people’s vote in achieving the long-awaited 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies.
He emphasized the importance of removing a government that fails to protect the dignity of women.
Rajasthan’s Battle for Change
With the assembly election scheduled later this year, Rajasthan finds itself in the midst of a fierce battle for change.
The Congress has been in power for the past five years, winning 99 seats in the 2018 elections and forming a government with the support of independents and the Bahujan Samaj Party.
However, PM Modi believes that the Ashok Gehlot government has squandered five valuable years of the state’s youth and deserves zero marks for its governance.
Tackling the Mafia and Patronage
PM Modi accused the Congress government of patronizing the mafia and allowing them to leak recruitment exam question papers.
He promised that strict action would be taken against these criminals once the BJP forms the government.
The Prime Minister’s commitment to rooting out corruption and disrupting the illicit activities of the mafia resonated with the gathered crowd.
The Women’s Reservation Bill
PM Modi pointed out that if they were genuinely committed to women’s empowerment, the Congress could have passed the women’s reservation bill during their rule.
The bill, which aims to reserve a third of seats in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies for women, was recently passed by Parliament.
PM Modi highlighted the Congress’ historic resistance to women’s reservation, claiming that they only supported the bill under pressure from women.
As the BJP gears up for the upcoming assembly election, PM Modi’s powerful speech at the ‘Parivartan Sankalp’ rally has rallied support and sent a clear message to the people of Rajasthan to vote for change.
