At an introductory price of Rs. 79,999, Ola Electric has launched its new entry-level electric scooter, the S1X.
Ola Electric on Tuesday flaunted its new entry-level electric scooter, the S1X, with a groundbreaking introduction price of Rs. 79,999—it was indeed a challenge to the conventional engine counterparts.
The company also showcased its four highly-anticipated electric motorcycles lined up for launch towards the end of 2024.
S1X Electric Scooter and Its Different Variants
The S1X electric scooter comes in three stunning variants— S1X (with a 2KWh battery), S1X with a 3KWh battery, and S1X+ also with a 3KWh battery but with more connected features, according to company founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal.
Touted to target daily commutes of around 10-20 km, the S1X fashions a range of 151 kilometers on a single charge and can reach a top speed of 90 km/hour.
Aggarwal had something fascinating to emphasize— he claimed not only these scooters together mark the end of ICE age scooters but also highlighted their cost advantages over an ICE counterpart.
“We are working with speed and with a clear vision to support the country’s leadership in electrification,” Aggarwal said. How exactly are they achieving this? By developing core technologies in-house, and through adopting economies of scale, localized supply chains, and manufacturing engineering, Ola Electric aims to ensure complete price parity between ICE and EV vehicles.
With the launch of the new scooters, Ola Electric’s portfolio expanded to include S1X (2khw), S1X, S1X+, S1Air and S1 Pro priced between Rs. 89,999 and Rs. 1.47 lakh.

“I am also thrilled to announce the global debut of Ola’s electric motorcycles that will be launched towards the end of 2024”, Aggarwal declared.
These motorcycles designed and engineered in-house set Ola’s leap into the future of motorcycling. These bikes will be built in India for the world, he added, vehemently showcasing India’s contribution to the global EV shift.
