An announcement made by South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa, revealed that six additional countries are joining the BRICS alliance as full members effective January 1, 2024.

These newly invited members will stand alongside the alliance’s existing partners – Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who attended the BRICS Summit hosted in Johannesburg, hailed this integrative change.
