Former Jyotiraditya Scindia aide, Samandar Patel, who once held an influential position in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has surprisingly opted to make a re-entry into his old political cabin – the Indian National Congress (INC) party.
Jyotiraditya Scindia Loyalist Samandar Patel Departs BJP
Samandar Patel made his grand return in the presence of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Kamal Nath at the PCC office in the state capital, Bhopal, last Friday.
Patel’s allegiance to Congress was solidified with an impressive turnout from his supporters, where over 800 vehicles convoyed from his hometown, Jawad in Neemuch.
Kamal Nath presented an insight into Patel’s decision, stating, “Patel has joined the Congress party unconditionally with the party’s ideology, customs, principles, and loyalty to the party. His truth has brought him here.”
Corruption Allegations Against the BJP
The incumbent Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government has had its fair share of controversies.
PCC chief Kamal Nath claims that it’s not just Patel; the people of the state have made up their minds to bid adieu to the BJP government.
He further alleged that the Chouhan-led BJP government tops in corruption, atrocities against women, farmers, and the youth.
This event does not exist in isolation. Several former Shivpuri district Congress President Baijnath Singh Yadav and Rakesh Gupta, both known to be loyal to Scindia, have also returned to the Congress party.
Samandar Patel’s return to Congress signifies a step back to his political roots. It encapsulates a growing distrust amongst BJP members and subtly exemplifies the internal conflicts blighting the party.
Despite all this movement, the ultimate determinant of this political drama will be the forthcoming assembly polls. As we wait for that, this political seesaw continues to keep us on the edge.
