Talking Tomorrow : On the 27th and 28th of July 2021, Sodexo presented Talking Tomorrow – the online L&D 2.1 Enclave, in association with IndianOil, with approximately 100 delegates, 12 sessions, five C Suite speakers, and three celebrity international trainer motivators.
On July 27, Day 1 began with a Keynote Session led by Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra, Director, Human Resources, Indian Oil, who delivered the opening remarks and declared the Enclave open. Mohapatra identified ‘adaptability, agility, and alignment’ as the three gateways to tomorrow’s business multiverse.
Anish Sarkar, CEO of Sodexo BRS India and a prominent figure in corporate India, delivered the keynote address. He emphasised the importance of ‘digital fluency’ in learning and development, as well as the path forward for Sodexo BRS India with its immersive suite of new-age employee benefits designed to enhance the employee experience.
On Track Two, Harish Sarma, VP – Marketing, Sodexo BRS India and a recipient of the IIM Calcutta Marketing Excellence Award, moderated a panel discussion featuring K K Mohanty, M.D. Gammon Infra and a Harvard Business School alumnus, Amitava Saha, CHRO BIOCON and an IIM Calcutta alumnus, and Harsh P Bhosale, Chief People Officer of Na They outlined the anticipated future trends in Working in the New Normal.
The high point of Day 1 was Melanie Martinelli’s highly energetic 30-minute session, “Mix it Up!, live from Switzerland, demonstrating next-generation learning tools such as Mentimeter, Flippity, Padlet, and Conceptboard, much to the delight of the L&D community members in the audience, who quizzed her about technical issues such as software whitelisting and international e-learning standards.
On July 28, Day 2 of Talking Tomorrow began with a ‘Straight Talk’ on Sustainability featuring Dr Subramanya Kusnur, Founder Chairman, Aquakraft, who introduced futuristic concepts such as the Water Balance Sheet and Water Bank. The enclave continued on Track Two with a thought-provoking session on Creativity in Chaos featuring best-selling author and corporate storyteller Vinay Kanchan, who presented the IDEAS model of creativity.
On both days, Krish Banik, CEO, EMG HRD, conducted Track One Training on Winning Habits in Disrupted Times. The session included participant interaction in both audio and video modes and concluded with a real-time multiplayer gaming experience on Kahoot!
Abhishek Kurdukar, VP – Sales, Sodexo BRS India, concluded the two-day enclave with a prediction of a hi-tech hybrid future in which corporations with a high level of touch will maintain a sustainable competitive advantage.
The delegates at Talking Tomorrow included representatives from both the public and private sectors. Biocon, IndianOil, PC Chandra Jewellers, IFFCO, SREI, Dalmia Bharat Cement, Gammon Infra, and JIS Group were among the companies represented.
AMRI Hospitals, Purity Partner AQUAKRAFT, and Academic Partner GNIHM of the JIS Group of Educational Institutions all sponsored the event.
The event was organised by EMG HRD – the Learning and Development Division of the Worldofemg – and culminated with a jam session featuring new age trending talent Anisha Lakhmani performing international hits such as Imagine, Times Like These, and Lost Stars.
