Deepika Kumari, the world’s number one archer, advanced to the next round of the women’s individual archery event after defeating Bhutan’s Bhu Karna on Wednesday at Yumenoshima Ranking Field. In the 1/32 eliminations round, the India archer defeated Bhu Karma 6-0.

The Indian archer shot 8,9, and 9 in Set 1 and finished with a total score of 26, while Bhu Karma finished with a score of 23. This gave Deepika a 2-0 lead.

In Set 2, a similar storey unfolded, and Deepika took command of the match. By the time the third set concluded, the Indian had built a comfortable 6-0 lead and had effectively sealed the match.

Tarundeep Rai and Pravin Jadhav were eliminated from men’s individual archery earlier in the day after losing in the 1/16 eliminations round.

Deepika Kumari and Pravin Jadhav of India’s mixed team lost their quarter-final match in the Archery Mixed Team event on Saturday. An San and Kim Je Deok of South Korea defeated the Indian pair 6-2 in the quarterfinals.
