Somy Ali, an actress who has worked with celebrities such as Mithun Chakraborty, Suniel Shetty, Saif Ali Khan, Govinda, and Sanjay Dutt, has spoken about her relationship with Salman Khan. According to the actress, her shelved debut film with Salman, ‘Buland,’ became a ‘metaphor’ for their relationship.
Somy Ali was reportedly in a relationship with the ‘Tiger 3’ actress for nearly eight years. Somy recently discussed her romantic relationship with Salman and their current equation with ETimes. “I haven’t spoken to Salman in five years,” she stated. I believe it is necessary to move on. I’ve moved on, and he has as well. I’m not sure how many girlfriends he’s had since December 1999, when I left. I wish him the best of luck. I am aware that his non-governmental organisation is doing excellent work, and I am proud of his Being Human Foundation. Psychologically, it is more beneficial for me to avoid contact with him. It’s comforting to know he’s in a good place and happy, and that’s all that matters.”
Additionally, the actress revealed that her shelved film with the superstar served as a metaphor for their relationship. According to the publication, she stated, “Salman had recently launched his own production company and was looking for a leading lady to star opposite him in the film titled ‘Buland.’ We travelled to Kathmandu to shoot; unfortunately, I was too young and inexperienced in the industry, and a disagreement with the producers resulted in the film being shelved. Thus, I would say that it was a metaphor for our relationship.”
Somy Ali’s most recent film appearance was in the 1997 film ‘Chupp’ alongside Jeetendra and Om Puri. She is now active in women’s rights advocacy and works to raise awareness about the plight of rape and domestic violence victims.
