Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra used to inspire his audiences by delivering heartwarming stories on cinema. Now, he has a book of his own: “The Stranger in the Mirror.” Sonam Kapoor recently unveiled the book’s cover.
On Wednesday, the National Award-winning director shared an excerpt from the book written by Sonam. The article stated, “Rakeysh made me Sonam Kapoor. Period. There’s no other way about it.”
Rakeysh commemorated the occasion with a special video featuring the song ‘Masakali’ from their film ‘Delhi 6’ in the background. He wrote, “Sharing the post,” “Only Sonam could have elevated Masakali to such iconic status. There is no other way.”
For the uninitiated, Sonam and Rakeysh treated the audience by collaborating on the critically acclaimed film ‘Delhi 6,’ which grew to be a significant part of Sonam’s career. Apart from ‘Delhi 6,’ the duo worked together on the National Award-winning film ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’.
The book ‘The Stranger In The Mirror‘ contains QR codes that enhance the reader experience. Interestingly, readers will be able to scan the codes (using any QR code scanner) to access a specific scene or song from the incident being discussed.
The book is now available for readers to read about the eminent filmmaker’s life.
The book was written by Academy Award-winning musician A.R. Rahman, with whom the director collaborated on two films, ‘Rang De Basanti’ and ‘Delhi 6’, as well as by superstar Aamir Khan, with whom the director collaborated on the superhit film ‘Rang De Basanti’.
Reeta Ramamurthy Gupta co-authored the book, which features first-person accounts from some of Indian cinema’s most prolific figures, including veteran superstar Waheeda Rahman, AR Rahman, Manoj Bajpayee, Abhishek Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Ronnie Screwvala, Atul Kulkarni, R. Madhavan, Divya Dutta, and Prahlad Kakar.
